The Goose Girl

Enna Burning

River Secrets

Forest Born

Okay, first off, let me just say, sorry I haven't been posting! In the whole month of July, I have slept in my own bed five times (yes, I counted) And when school starts back up, I'll be busy again for a few weeks, but I'll try my hardest to post!

To The Review!!

I absolutely HATED reading when I was younger. It was just a waste of time to me, and I was always behind and my reading scores were always low. Until I read The Goose Girl. This book made me fall head over heels with reading, no joke. So well thought out, well written, and amazing! I think I've said this before, I adore books based off of old fairytales! The Goose Girl story isn't a very popular one, but it is one of my favorites. A book obviously worth reading. Shannon Hale (the author) is a sweetheart! I've met her only once, but she grew up with a very close friend of mine. Another book by her, that I've also blogged about (Princess Academy), has a sequel that I got two months in advance signed at her house. On my birthday. Best. Birthday. Ever.   ~~Anywho, here's the book summaries :)

(Old & New covers)

(Geric!!! I love you!)
Anidori-Kiladra Talianna Isilee, Crown Princess of Kildenree, spends the first years of her life under her aunt's guidance learning to communicate with animals. As she grows up Ani develops the skills of animal speech, but is never comfortable speaking with people, so when her silver-tongued lady-in-waiting leads a mutiny during Ani's journey to be married in a foreign land, Ani is helpless and cannot persuade anyone to assist her. Becoming a goose girl for the king, Ani eventually uses her own special, nearly magical powers to find her way to her true destiny. Shannon Hale has woven an incredible, original and magical tale of a girl who must find her own unusual talents before she can become queen of the people she has made her own. ~On her way to marry a prince she's never met, Princess Anidori is betrayed by her guards and her lady-in-waiting and must become a goose girl to survive until she can reveal her true identity and reclaim the crown that is rightfully hers.

(I have a fictional character crush on Enna's brother)

Enna and Princess Isi became fast friends in The Goose Girl, but after Isi married Prince Geric, Enna returned to the forest. Enna's simple life changes forever when she learns to wield fire and burn anything at will. Enna is convinced that she can use her ability for good-to fight Tira, the kingdom threatening the Bayern borders-and goes on secret raids to set fire to the Tiran camps and villages. But as the power of the fire grows stronger, she is less able to control her need to burn. In her recklessness she is captured by the Tiran army and held captive by a handsome, manipulative young captain who drugs her to keep her under his influence. Can Isi and her old friends Finn and Razo rescue her without sacrificing themselves? And with the fire still consuming her, will Enna find a way to manage the gift that threatens to destroy her?

(Razo is my favorite!! <3 )
Razo has never been anything but ordinary. He’s not very fast, or tall, or strong, so when he’s invited to join an elite mission escorting the ambassador into Tira, Bayern’s great enemy, he’s sure it’s only out of pity. But when they arrive in the strange southern country, it is Razo who finds the first dead body. As they try to learn more from the Tirans about the ever increasing murders, Razo is the only Bayern soldier able to befriend both the high and low born, including the beautiful Lady Dasha. And as Razo finds allies among the Tirans, he realizes that it may be up to him to get the Bayern army safely home again.

(Probably my least favorite, but still amazing! Mostly because she was only ever briefly mentioned.)

Rin has always been a quiet, helpful girl, but a secret has been eating away at her, and the solace Rin once could find among the tall trees surrounding her forest home has vanished. When she leaves home to join her older brother, Razo, in the city, she finds intriguing answers to her questions, an adventure she doesn't expect, and a sense of self she never thought she would find.

My fan-girl notes, please don't judge, 'cause everyone will agree! There are another set of covers, but as long as it had the right title and is by Shannon Hale, you're reading the right book :) Hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
