Pillage

Pillage

by Obert Skye

Okay, I love dragons. It's a problem I have. I try not to bring them up too much, but I've been known to slip them into normal conversations, but then they don't become to normal after that... Anywho! Love love LOVE this series. IF you ever read/heard of Leven Thumps, this is the same author. Although, I would only recommend Leven Thumps to like 5th graders. They were scary to me in 3rd grade, but kinda stupid in 7th grade.

But we were talking about dragons. But not any dragons. Dragons born from stone eegs and grown in a nest of plants. Sounds weird, I know, I thought it was odd too at first, but a wonderful story!! It's in the POV of a boy (not very common now-a-days) named Beck who go's to live with his crazy uncle who doesn't even know his nephew is going to live with him.

Okay, sounds crazy. Just read it.

Upon his mother's death, fifteen-year-old Beck Phillips travels by train to the secluded village of Kingsplot to live with his wealthy but estranged uncle he's never met in a secluded and huge manor, Beck discover some dark family secrets. A buried basement, a forbidden wall, and old book of family history with odd references to ... dragons? Beck's life is about to be changed forever when he learns that his family suffers from a curse that allows him to make plants grow on command and dragon eggs hatch.

Beck Phillips, who seems to have a knack for causing mischief in the secluded village of Kingsplot, used his unique gift to unexpectedly hatch several dragon eggs. Thankfully, the dragons were destroyed . . . or were they? A stranger has discovered that Beck Phillips is the key to finding and hatching a lost dragon's egg a task that will bring the riches and fortune that Beck's family was destined to have. Beck is fooled and has to now deal with the temptations of the beautiful queen dragon and his beautiful girl Kate.

The usually sleepy town of Kingsplot is experiencing things that can't be explained. Plants are vandalizing the museum, buildings are being torn apart at night, and the minds of citizens can't seem to reme, ber the dragons that tore apart the town less than a year before.. In the Pillage manor above the town, Beck's life is unraveling as well. The girl he cares for has had enough, his father is in the hospital, and the madness that has poisoned Beck's ancestors is beginning to infect his own thoughts. Behind its walls and floors of the manor are more surprises, including a hidden elevator in the bathroom. In order to save his father, Beck must plant the final dragon stone, which brings to life much more than he expected. Not just one dragon appears, but three the king and two wicked guardians. Beck's new desire to pillage is growing strong. The rightful task he knows he must perform is a task that will put an end to the dragons once and for all, though he has a hard time bringing himself to do it, even if it means losing Kate and his father.
